Technical data: Photo taken with tripod mounted Nikon SLR film camera & Nikkor 85mm f1.8 lens using existing indoor light. Approximate exposure 1/60 second at f5.6 - Kodak T-Max 400 black and white film rated normally at EI 400, processed normally. No lens filters were used. Film was scanned using a Nikon Coolscan series film scanner. Photo file routinely optimized using Photoshop; levels and curves, sharpening, cropping and dust spot removal using clone tool. I use a Mac for all photo processing.
Comments: I wasn't having much luck photographing this young girl despite her photogenic qualities. That all changed when I gave her my hat. Of course, I never got it back. Shortly after giving up my hat I also gave up the involved lighting set-up I'd been using in this girl's house. Instead I used the natural daylight / tungsten mix of light found near a windowed kitchen. It was a good move. << Back to Introduction to Photography
