Technical Data

Film was scanned using a Minolta Dimage series film scanner. Photo file was routinely optimized using Photoshop; color balance, levels and curves, sharpening, cropping and dust spot removal using clone tool. I use a Mac for all photo processing.
Comments
I don't suppose I made a friend with the driver of this bus. To build some enthusiasm with the kids I pointed to my camera and then to them and shook my head "no". In no time I had a small mob at the window begging for pictures. Quickly I snapped a few and ducked away before things got out of hand.
This shot was tough to meter. I took spot readings of the children on the right and of the yellow paint and averaged them. I needed a good yellow but also legible faces. The original, uncropped image contained lots of bright sky above the bus so a "multipattern" or other auto exposure mode would have overcompensated and caused an underexposed picture.
