Caption: Young Boy
Eating
Technical data: Photo taken with a Nikon SLR film camera and Nikkor
85mm f1.8 lens; hand held, ambient tungsten light. Approximate exposure
1/30 second at f4.0 - Fuji Sensia 200 transparency film. No lens
filters were used.
Film was scanned using Minolta
Dimage series film scanner. Photo file was routinely optimized using
Photoshop; levels and curves, color balance, sharpening, cropping and
dust spot removal using clone tool. I use a Mac for all photo
processing.

Comments: Snacktime is good picture time. While setting up the
photo session I gave this young boy his snack and kept a camera handy.
A few minutes later, while still setting up, I hastily grabbed this
photo. There's a lot wrong with the picture: it's soft from camera
shake and the background isn't right for starters. But I love the shot
anyway. He's totally natural and his personality is exactly as the
picture suggests. (See also: Photographing
Children)
This is a good example of why you
should always be ready with a camera, even while you're getting ready
to be ready with a camera. Also, technical flaws in a picture aren't
always a show-stopper.
