Technical Data Photo taken with an Olympus Stylus Epic point and shoot film camera; hand held, available light. Approximate exposure 1/250 second at f8 - Fuji Sensia 100 transparency film. No lens filters were used. Film was scanned using Minolta Dimage series film scanner. Photo file was routinely optimized using Photoshop; levels and curves, color balance, sharpening, cropping and dust spot removal using clone tool. I use a Mac for all photo processing.
Comments Sometimes a grab shot is as good as it's going to get. I made this picture quickly as a test of sorts while evaluating the setting. I made several alternate photo attempts with different equipment but after the dust settled, this point and shoot picture was the best pick of them all. I love point and shoot cameras. Pictures like this one are the reason why. I could have made this photo with a heavy professional SLR camera but I don't always have one at the ready (or want one always at the ready). But it's easy to have a nice small P&S camera handy. They're light, easy to use and make technically excellent photos. Getting the photo at all is always better than just wishing you'd brought the "big camera" and gotten nothing.
