Technical data: Photo taken with hand held manual Olympus SLR film camera and Zuiko 28mm f2.0 lens using existing outdoor light. Approximate exposure 1/250 second at f8; Kodak T-Max 400 film rated at ISO 400, processed normally. No lens filters were used. Film was scanned using a Nikon Coolscan series film scanner. Photo file was routinely optimized with Photoshop on a Mac.

Comments: This is a grab shot, pure and simple. I'd been filming this couple all around their property for a few hours and was packing up my gear when the man spontaneously rushed to the woman's side and planted this comical smooch. I had a manual film camera still around my neck and was able to get only this single shot.

Ideally I would have chosen a longer lens for this picture - if I'd had a choice - and moved the couple to a location with better background. But like someone said, it's better than a poke in the eye with a carrot.  HC
