Technical data: Tripod mounted Olympus OM-4T SLR film camera and Zuiko 100mm f2.8 lens; ambient tungsten light. Approximate exposure 1/60 second at f5.6 - Kodak E200 transparency film exposed at EI 400 and push processed. No lens filters were used. Film was scanned using a Minolta Dimage series film scanner. Photo file was routinely optimized with Photoshop on a Mac.

Comments: This photo was part of a series taken in various public schools. Many of the photos, including this one, were made without any supplemental lighting in order to keep a low-key presence. The low light made a tripod mandatory. I used Olympus SLR's for the project because they are small, light and accurate. The 100mm f2.8 Zuiko (Olympus manufactured lens trade name) lens was ideal - it's much smaller and lighter than the slightly technically superior 100mm f2.0
