Technical data: Photo taken with Olympus SLR film camera and Zuiko 85mm f2.0 lens; tripod mounted, available light. Approximate exposure 1/500 second at f8 - Kodak T-Max 400 black and white film processed normally. No lens filters were used. Film was scanned using a Nikon Coolscan series film scanner. Photo file was routinely optimized with Photoshop on a Mac.
Comments: This boy was self-conscious about his missing front tooth - or rather, I should say - his mother caused him to be embarrassed. This is why I usually don't allow parents near their children during filming.
To cheer the boy up I used my most effective child photography trick: smacking myself on the head and screaming in mock pain. This trick works every single time. HC
